Carolyn Cabrey, a member of the Women’s National Indoor Field Hockey Team and a decorated collegian from Lafayette College, will joined field hockey head coach Cristy Freese’s coaching staff as a graduate assistant for the 2012 season.

Cabrey will primarily work with players on skill development, and with the midfielders on game techniques and strategies.

She brings experience and perspective from her international and collegiate careers. In March she was named to the Women’s National Indoor Team for a second consecutive season and will compete at the Indoor Pan American Championship in Puerto Montt, Chile, August 28-September 2. 

Prior to her National Team experiences, Cabrey was a standout midfielder/defender at Lafayette College. She was awarded the Charles L. Albert Award in 2008 as Lafayette’s most outstanding female senior student-athlete, and was a four-time All-Patriot League selection. During her senior season she was named the Patriot League Tournament MVP en route to leading the Leopards to a conference championships, assisting on the championship game-winning goal.

Cabrey graduated from Lafayette in 2012 with a B.S. in biology, and completed research as a Mellon Scholar on water quality and plankton abundance sampling on Raritan Bay, N.J., in 2011. She was a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection during her undergraduate career.
