Athletics Director Leadership Development Program

Kevin King, an adjunct faculty member at CMU and assistant professor/director of the sport management program at Madonna University, was hired as director of the Athletics Director Leadership Development Program (ADLDP) prior to the 2011-12 academic year.

King is familiar with Michigan universities, teaching Administration of Sport and Sport Fundraising at CMU and instructing Media Relations in Sports and Introduction to Sport Management courses at Madonna. He served five years as a sport management lecturer at the University of Michigan for Race Relations, Cultural Images and Sports, and Historical and Sociological Basis of Human Movement.

Prior to his academic career, King worked for 10 years in the public relations field for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, American Red Cross and World Wrestling Entertainment/XFL in addition to a pair of Detroit-based firms.

He received a bachelor's degree in organizational communications from Eastern Michigan and a master's degree in sports administration from Wayne State.
