MOUNT PLEASANT -
Four individuals have been elected captains of the 2011 Central Michigan football team.

Senior linebacker Mike Petrucci, senior defensive lineman John Williams, junior quarterback Ryan Radcliff and junior receiver Cody Wilson were selected captains by a vote of their teammates on Saturday, the final day of the Chippewas' preseason camp.

Each will be serving as a captain for the first time in his career.

Petrucci is a three-year letterman who made a career-high 48 tackles last season. He also recovered a pair of fumbles, including one he returned 43 yards for a touchdown in the Chippewas' win at Eastern Michigan. He was an Academic All-Mid-American Conference selection in 2010.

Williams is entering his third season as a starter in the interior of the defensive line. He tallied 40 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and three fumble recoveries as a junior in 2010. Williams has 11 tackles for loss and six sacks in his career.

Radcliff is entering his second season as the Chippewas' starting quarterback. He posted the third-most completions (282) and passing yards (3,358) in a season in school history in 2010 and already ranks in CMU's career top-10 in completions (eighth, 292), attempts (10th, 487) and yards (ninth, 3,473).

Wilson was an All-MAC second team selection as a receiver and an Academic All-MAC honoree in 2010. He caught 83 passes for 1,137 yards and five touchdowns to earn CMU's Herb Deromedi Most Valuable Player award. His receptions total was the fifth highest in school history, while his receiving yardage total ranks third all-time.
