Greg Kigar returned to his alma mater in September 2008, joining the Central Michigan Athletics Department as Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities and Events. In his current role he oversees the facilities and game management aspects of all 16 Chippewa sport programs.

Kigar earned a bachelor's degree in sport studies from CMU in 1987, and graduated with a master's degree in sport management from Western Illinois in 1992.

He joined the CMU Athletics staff after working for two years as Director of Stadium Operations for the Great Lakes Loons, a single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers in Midland, Mich. There he was instrumental in the construction and opening of the Loons' new stadium, Dow Diamond. Prior to the Loons he was the Director of Operations at the Dow Event Center in Saginaw, Mich.

Kigar's collegiate experience includes working as the Intramural Director and Sport Club Director at Notre Dame from 1991-97, serving as a graduate assistant in the Central Michigan (1990-91) and Western Illinois (1989-90) campus recreation departments, and assisting in the promotion, marketing and special events efforts at Ferris State (1987-89).
