Jordan Bitzer is now 13-of-22 on the season from three-point range. His 4-for-4 night from deep was not enough on Tuesday, as CMU fell to Wright State, 69-53.
DAYTON, Ohio -- Jordan Bitzer posted his second career double-double and tied a career-high with 10 rebounds, but the Central Michigan men's basketball team fell to Wright State at the Ervin J. Nutter Center on Tuesday, 69-53.

Bitzer finished 6-of-9 from the field and hit all three triple tries he took while collecting a game-high 10 boards and dishing out a pair of assists. Chris Kellermann would be the only other Chippewa to score in double-figures, thanks to a 6-for-6 night from the free throw line.

After CMU cut an early seven-point deficit to three on a jumper by Bitzer at the 11:44 mark, Wright State went on an 11-3 run to push its lead to 11 with 8:43 to go in the opening half. Central would fall behind by 17 minutes later and go into the break down 12, 38-26.

A three by Robbie Harman would get the Chippewas back within nine with just under 16 minutes left, but the Raider lead would balloon to as many as 18 with 6:40 left. Despite holding Wright State without a field goal from that point forward, the Maroon and Gold would get no closer than 12 down the stretch.

CMU shot just 33 percent in the contest and 44 percent from deep (4-of-9) and went 17-for-26 from the stripe, while WSU connected at 39 percent from the floor, 45 percent from long range (9-of-20) and 81 percent from the charity stripe (26-of-32).

Two players combined for 41 of WSU's 69 points in Vaughn Duggins (21) and Todd Brown (20). The two combined to go 15-for-16 from the free throw line.

The Chippewas struggled with turnovers, committing a season-high 20, and the Raiders turned those miscues into 24 points. The WSU reserves also outscored CMU's bench, 34-12.

CMU (2-3) heads down to West Lafayette, Ind., to face No. 6 Purdue on Saturday to wrap up its current three-game road swing.
