CMU is 1-1 all time against the Cowboys. The Chippewas lost, 31-10, at Wyoming on Sept. 16, 2000, then beat the Cowboys, 32-20, at Kelly/Shorts Stadium on Sept. 7, 2002. And now, of course, the teams will meet in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on Dec. 22 in Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho.
To qualify for Academic All-MAC honors, a student-athlete must have a 3.20 or better cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of his team’s games. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible.
CMU last played Bowling Green, a member of the MAC East, in 2010. The Falcons won that game, 17-14. The Chippewas have not played Akron or Buffalo in either of the past two seasons. The Zips are the defending MAC East champions.
Admission is free and no RSVP is necessary. Also expected to join the show are team captains Amari Coleman, Tyler Conklin and Joe Ostman along with quarterback Shane Morris.
