MOUNT PLEASANT -- Junior goalkeeper Shay Mannino of the Central Michigan women's soccer team was named to the NSCAA/adidas Women's College Scholar All-America third team on Monday.

Mannino sports a 3.89 grade-point average as an elementary education major. The junior started all 24 matches in goal for CMU and finished with a school-record 17 solo shutouts and a 0.60 goals against average.

She was named MAC Defensive Player of the Year and was a first-team All-MAC selection. The junior strung together a shutout streak of 1134:36, the third-longest streak ever recorded by a Division I goalkeeper. Mannino was named second-team All-Great Lakes Region by the NSCAA following the breakthrough campaign.

Mannino has also been a part of the last three in a string of five straight seasons that the CMU soccer program has posted the nation's highest team GPA.
