MOUNT PLEASANT -- Women's basketball forward Laura Baker is this week's State Farm Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

Baker, seeing her first extended action as a Chippewa, finished with 14 points, 14 rebounds, seven steals and an assist in three games last week, including her first start at CMU. The Flint, Mich. native helped the Chippewas to an 88-60 victory over Howard in the final game before the holiday break.

The communication major maintains a 3.04 grade-point average.

Each week, one student-athlete is selected as the State Farm Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
